Karun Chandhok finishes 13th in Monaco ePrix
Karun Chandhok driving for Mahindra Racing Team finished a battling 13th after starting from the back of the grid in the Monaco ePrix, Round 7 of the Formula E World Championships.
The Indian driver managed to qualify 19th but was given 10–place grid penalty for changing the RESS system (Battery) and had to start at the back of the grid (P20).
"Frustrating start to the day. Had to get the battery replaced after Long Beach so we get 10 place grid penalty. Not good for a street track!" tweet Chandhok after qualifying.
The former F1 driver who was driving in his favorite circuit, Monaco, made his best to get pastf 7 cars in a tough street circuit and managed to finish 13th on his Mahindra Racing car.
Mahindra Racing Team´s second driver Bruno Senna who qualified 9th retired from the race in a spectacular tumble in Lap 1.
Daniel Abt was squeezed into the wall by Nico Prost and Senna who was coming behind was left with nowhere to go, vaulted over the Audi of Abt, flying through the air before crashing down after a bit hit, miraculously without any injuries.
“I’m a bit sore, but otherwise OK,” said Senna after his spectacular exit.
The incident packed race was won by Sebastian Buemi (e–Dams Renault).
